Early Monday morning, a three-year-old male tiger, now renamed RVT-4, was relocated from Haryana's Jhabua forests to the Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve in Rajasthan. The tiger was successfully introduced to a one-hectare soft enclosure and joined an existing group of tigers in the reserve.
RVT-4 was equipped with a radio collar to ensure continuous monitoring as it acclimatizes to its new environment. Initial reports from the reserve indicated that the tiger exhibited typical movement patterns within the enclosure, staying hydrated and taking necessary rest.
Wildlife activists welcomed RVT-4's inclusion in the reserve, emphasizing its potential to bolster wildlife tourism. However, they warned of possible disputes unless another female tiger is brought in, considering RVT-3 is the sole adult female currently residing in the area.
