Ajay Bhutoria, an Indian American fundraiser closely associated with Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party, has become a target of racist and threatening correspondences. The messages demand that he leave the United States and return to India, questioning his allegiance to America.
One such message read, 'You claim that you are doing what's best for Americans, but you aren't doing anything for Americans and you don't care about America. You are Indian. You only care about Indians.' These texts, sent from an unknown number, urge Bhutoria to elevate his status in India, accusing him of being a 'beggar in America.'
Bhutoria, who holds prominent roles as Deputy National Finance Chair DNC and on the President's Advisory Commission on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders, has been pivotal in championing the causes of the legal immigrant community. He shared these messages publicly, attributing them to Trump supporters and highlighting the ongoing struggle for immigrants facing racial discrimination.
