Queen Camilla has been forced to step back from her official duties this weekend as she recovers from a seasonal chest infection. Buckingham Palace announced that she will miss the annual remembrance weekend events that pay tribute to fallen service personnel.
The 77-year-old was meant to be part of the royal family delegation at the "Festival of Remembrance" on Saturday, followed by the Remembrance Sunday ceremony at the Cenotaph war memorial. A statement from the palace noted that she is adhering to doctors' advice for a full recovery and to prevent any potential risks to others.
Despite their own health challenges, King Charles III and the Princess of Wales, Kate, will be present at the events. The king, diagnosed with cancer in February, and Kate, who has recently completed chemotherapy following an earlier cancer diagnosis, are continuing their public duties.
