Inaugurating a literary exuberance, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched the Gomti Book Festival at Gomti Riverfront Park, Lucknow. The festival, a collaboration between the National Book Trust and the Lucknow Development Authority, is set to run until November 17, inviting book lovers to indulge in the world of literature.
Amidst growing digital consumption, Adityanath highlighted the importance of physical books, urging young attendees to cultivate the habit of reading by purchasing at least one book. Emphasizing a balanced approach, he remarked that while technology offers benefits, it should not dominate personal growth and societal contributions.
The chief minister also celebrated the region's rich literary past, paying homage to revered figures such as Maharishi Valmiki and Tulsidas, and significant works like the 'Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta.' He advocated for widespread book fairs across Uttar Pradesh's 18 divisions, inspiring the next generation towards a more informed future.
