In a significant policy shift, the Darul Uloom Islamic seminary in Deoband has decided to allow women entry into its campus, effective immediately, albeit with stringent rules.
Women visitors must adhere to a dress code, wearing hijabs, and be accompanied by a family member. Additionally, the institution has established strict prohibitions on videography, requiring all visitors to deposit their mobile phones prior to gaining access.
The new regulations follow a previous ban instated on May 17 after complaints surfaced about unauthorized 'reels' being filmed on-site. The appointed management officer will issue a visitor pass valid for two hours, with identification proof required at entry.
