In a heartfelt gesture of cultural solidarity, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz extended warm Diwali greetings to the Indian people, emphasizing the shared values of democracy, freedom, and a vision for a brighter future that both nations uphold.
Through a message posted on the social media platform X, Katz expressed his well wishes to Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, stating, "I wish you and the people of India a #HappyDiwali2024!" He added that the Festival of Light should herald joy, prosperity, and peace. Katz also shared a message in Hindi, "Deepawali ki haardik shubhkamnayen," deepening the cultural connection.
Across Israel, educational institutions are adorned with symbols of Diwali as Indian researchers, who make up a significant part of the overseas academic community, participate in the festivities. With 18-20,000 Indians in Israel taking part, this celebration highlights the cultural and national ties between the two countries.
