In a significant event on Thursday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh unveiled a statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and opened the Major Ralengnao 'Bob' Khating Museum of Valour at Tawang.

Due to bad weather, Singh conducted the inauguration virtually from Tezpur, as confirmed by a Defence spokesperson.

Singh highlighted Major Bob Khating's pivotal role in establishing the Indian administration up to the McMahon Line in 1951, emphasizing Tawang's strategic importance. He also praised the contributions of the Indian Army and local communities in creating the museum, which stands as a testament to Major Khating's legacy and national unity.

Attendees included Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik (Retd), Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, and other high-ranking officials.
