President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, and other dignitaries joined in paying floral tributes at Patel Chowk, where a statue commemorates India's first deputy prime minister and home minister.

Born in 1875 in Nadiad, Gujarat, Patel played a crucial role in India's fight for independence.
