Ayodhya's Deepotsav festival has set two Guinness World Records, marking a historic achievement in the annual celebrations held just before Diwali. This year's event saw over 25 lakh earthen lamps illuminated along 55 ghats of the Saryu river, including Ram ki Paidi, and 1,121 participants performing the traditional 'aarti' in unison.
Guinness World Records adjudicator Pravin Patel, who confirmed the records with his consultant Nischal Bharot, expressed delight over verifying not just one but two record-breaking feats. The previous year's lamp record stood at 22,23,676, a number significantly surpassed this year.
UP Tourism, along with Ayodhya's district administration and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, orchestrated this grand display. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath lauded the unforgettable achievement, acknowledging the efforts of teachers, students, and local organizations in setting these records.
