In a significant recovery, Australian police announced that they have retrieved over 40,000 stolen limited-edition coins inspired by the popular children's animated series, 'Bluey.' Valued at one Australian dollar (65 US cents) each, the coins were seized from a self-storage facility in Sydney's Wentworthville suburb.

The theft had been reported on July 12 when it was discovered that 63,000 coins, yet to be released by the Royal Australian Mint, had been stolen from a warehouse in Sydney's Wetherill Park. The theft is under investigation by police unit Strike Force Bandit, aptly named after Bluey's father in the series.

Authorities have charged three individuals in connection to the theft. A 27-year-old woman, alleged to be the getaway driver, was detained hours before the coins were recovered. Earlier, two men were charged, and police are actively searching for a fourth suspect. A coin collector, who bought some of the coins unknowingly, has not been compensated.
