Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to visit Tawang district in Arunachal Pradesh to inaugurate the Museum of Valour, dedicated to Major Ralengnao Bob Khathing. The event will also feature the unveiling of a statue of Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, officials announced on Wednesday.
Joining the Defence Minister will be Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh. In a post on X, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu welcomed the dignitaries, acknowledging the historical significance of the major's expedition to Tawang in 1951 and Patel's role in India's integration.
Singh's visit, during which he will also celebrate Diwali with soldiers stationed along the India-China border, underscores India's efforts to maintain border security amidst recent diplomatic progress with China over patrolling rights in Eastern Ladakh.
