The Tamil Film Producers' Council has reaffirmed its decision to pause all film-related activities starting November 1. This announcement comes amidst ongoing negotiations to address the rising costs of film production within the industry.

On July 29, producers resolved to engage with stakeholders, including the South Indian Artistes' Association and the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI), to formulate strategies for cost management. The temporary halt not only affects ongoing projects but also halts the commencement of new productions since August 16.

The producers' council emphasized the importance of cooperation from film directors in making the industry more efficient. Talks are still underway, keeping the July 29 halt in effect until further notice, as industry leaders work towards a viable solution.
