Fans of the animated sensation 'Moana' have a reason to celebrate as Disney gears up for the release of 'Moana 2'. In a dedicated press gathering at Walt Disney Animation Studios in Burbank, California, the magic-makers unveiled the first 30 minutes of this highly anticipated sequel, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Helmed by co-directors David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand, and Dana Ledoux Miller, alongside co-writer Jared Bush, the sequel transports viewers three years from the original film's setting to Moana's latest adventures. Jason Hand emphasized the importance of the opening song, describing it as a grand reentry into Moana's world, designed to capture the vibrant energy.

The narrative follows Moana on a thrilling ocean expedition after a call from her ancestors, where she encounters various challenges, including a showdown with the formidable Kakamora tribe. The co-directors highlighted Moana's development as a leader, with Ledoux Miller stressing the theme of leadership responsibility. Initially planned as a Disney+ series, the story was expanded to a full-length feature.

Jared Bush expressed excitement over the epic scale that 'Moana 2' achieves. The film will see the return of Auli'i Cravalho as Moana and Dwayne Johnson as Maui, along with other original cast members.

Set to captivate audiences on November 27, 'Moana 2' promises an enchanting musical journey with original songs by Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, with the opening number previewed at the Annecy Animation Festival setting an exhilarating tone. (ANI)
