A clash between student groups erupted during Diwali festivities at Jamia Millia Islamia University, resulting in police being stationed outside as a precaution, officials reported on Wednesday.

No formal complaints have been lodged about the scuffle, which occurred Tuesday night during an event organized by Rashtriya Kala Manch, an affiliate of the ABVP. Despite the incident, the ABVP announced plans for a 'deep mahotsav' on Wednesday evening.

Videos of students allegedly chanting communal slogans have surfaced on social media. Police have heightened their vigilance around the campus following the altercation. Ashutosh Singh, ABVP's national media convener, criticized the university's handling of the incident and mentioned plans to file a police complaint.
