Australia has been designated as the 'Country of Focus' at this year's 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), showcasing the nation's storytelling prowess through a curated selection of seven films. This strategic move coincides with the signing of an Audio Visual Co-production Treaty between India and Australia, aimed at boosting cross-border cinematic collaborations.

Set to unfold in Goa from November 20th to 28th, 2024, the festival will also feature Australia's involvement in the Film Bazaar—a prime platform for networking and forging international partnerships. Backed by government funding, up to six Australian producers will attend the event to explore co-production opportunities, further positioning Australia as an attractive filming location.

The festival will host an 'Australian Co-production Day' and a Masterclass by John Seale, the Academy Award-winning cinematographer known for 'Mad Max: Fury Road.' Additionally, a panel discussion on co-production potential between the two countries is scheduled as part of the Knowledge Series.
