India and Pakistan have renewed the agreement concerning the Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor for the next five years, as announced by the Ministry of External Affairs on Tuesday.
Responding to persistent requests from pilgrims, India has pressed Pakistan to lift the USD 20 service charge per pilgrim per visit. As articulated by the Ministry of External Affairs, both nations have diplomatically agreed to extend the Corridor's validity for an additional five years.
Initially signed on October 24, 2019, the agreement facilitates Indian pilgrims' visits to the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur, Narowal, Pakistan. This extension ensures continuous operation of the Corridor, enabling Indian pilgrims to freely visit the revered Gurdwara in Pakistan.
