Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has called on the next generation of historians to recognize and highlight the contributions of overlooked heroes in India's freedom movement. His comments came during the inaugural convocation of Raja Mahendra Pratap University, which honors the esteemed freedom fighter.
Dhankhar highlighted Raja Mahendra Pratap's pivotal role in establishing India's first provisional government-in-exile in Kabul in 1915. He lamented the minimal mentions of Pratap and other heroes like Dr. B R Ambedkar, Chaudhary Charan Singh, and Subhas Chandra Bose in history books.
The vice president stressed the necessity of technological advancement for India's growth, linking it to a strong education system. He urged businesses to invest in Indian education, advocating for a focus on excellence rather than commercialisation.
