Hollywood heavyweights Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson will star in the upcoming musical film 'Song Sung Blue,' a new project from director Craig Brewer known for films like 'Footloose' and 'Dolemite Is My Name.'

The musical adventure, set to be released by Focus Features, chronicles the journey of two struggling musicians who, in a bid to revive their careers and find love, form a Neil Diamond tribute band.

Aside from the star-studded pairing of Jackman and Hudson, the cast boasts talents like Michael Imperioli, Fisher Stevens, and Jim Belushi. John Davis and John Fox will produce under the Davis Entertainment banner, taking inspiration from a 2008 documentary by Greg Kohs.
