'Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama', the 1993 Japanese-Indian anime film, is set for a wider theatrical release in India, announced its distributors on Friday.
Originally slated for an October 18 debut in new Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu dubs alongside the original English in 4K, the release date has been postponed. Geek Pictures India, in collaboration with AA Films and Excel Entertainment, aims to make the film accessible to more cinemas nationwide.
Expressing gratitude to fans, Geek Pictures noted that the decision aligns with efforts to ensure the iconic film, celebrating the triumph of good over evil, reaches more audiences. The movie, directed by Yugo Sako, Ram Mohan, and Koichi Sasaki, features voice contributions from Arun Govil, Namrata Sawhney, and the late Amrish Puri.
