Delhi's Tourism Minister, Saurabh Bharadwaj, launched an 80-day 'Heritage Walk Festival' at the historic Mutiny Memorial. The event, organized by the Delhi Tourism Department, aims to showcase 100 historical sites from October 10 to December 31, celebrating the city's rich legacy and culture.
The festival started with a walk through the Mutiny Memorial, a significant site from the 1857 freedom struggle. Originally built to honor British officers, it now symbolizes India's fight for independence and the resilience of freedom fighters, according to Bharadwaj.
The initiative seeks to introduce hidden heritage sites to the public and younger audiences, promoting Delhi as a global tourist destination and encouraging the preservation of its history for future generations.
