Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman 2024: Celebrating Aesthetic Excellence in Durga Puja
The West Bengal government has awarded the 'Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman 2024' to numerous Durga Puja committees, recognizing their excellence in aesthetics and creativity. Awards were given in categories including best puja, best idol, and best social awareness. The celebratory carnival with 90 committees will be held on October 15.

The West Bengal government has announced the conferral of the 'Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman 2024' to various Durga Puja committees, highlighting their exceptional achievements in art and culture. This prestigious recognition was awarded under several categories, including 'Serar Sera' for the finest displays of aesthetics and creativity.
A total of 32 pujas were granted the 'Serar Sera' accolades, acknowledging the outstanding artistic efforts of committees from Kolkata, Howrah, and neighboring districts. Additionally, 22 other districts across the state participated, earning accolades for best puja, idol, pandal, and social awareness initiatives.
Puja committees, such as Tala Pratyay, Suruchi Sangha, and Behala Natun Dal, among others, were celebrated for their artistic endeavors. The government plans to culminate these achievements with a carnival on October 15, featuring around 90 committees showcasing their creative works.
