India Post Unveils Augmented Reality Cancellation at UPU 150th Anniversary

India Post's Maharashtra circle launched a special augmented reality cancellation and commemorative postcard on World Post Day, celebrating the Universal Postal Union’s 150th anniversary. Chief Postmaster General Amitabh Singh highlighted postal services' modern role and India Post’s digital expansion, including UPI in 40 African countries, amidst ongoing IT infrastructure upgrades.

In a significant move to mark World Post Day, India Post's Maharashtra circle has launched an innovative special cancellation featuring augmented reality, alongside a commemorative postcard to honor the 150th anniversary of the Universal Postal Union (UPU).

The initiative was unveiled by Chief Postmaster General Amitabh Singh at the General Post Office, emphasizing the transformative evolution of postal services. Singh highlighted India Post's expansion in the digital realm, especially through the Unified Payment Interface, now extended to 40 African countries, making substantial strides in digital transactions.

Further showcasing India Post's versatile role, Singh outlined the issuance of passports, Aadhaar updates, and driving license distribution as part of their extensive range of services. Notably, the department is set for a tech overhaul, planning IT upgrades to modernize 1,000 post offices.c
