The Ziro Butterfly Meet, held in the Tale Wildlife Sanctuary, saw an impressive count of 65 butterfly species, including notable ones like Bhutan Glory and Brown Gorgon. The event also documented 52 bird species.
This edition, running from October 5-8, was a significant step in raising awareness about environmental conservation, as detailed by Hapoli Divisional Forest Officer Nani Shah during the valedictory function.
Organized by NgunuZiro in collaboration with state departments, the event is part of the National Wildlife Week celebrations, aiming to highlight community-led sustainability initiatives, as former commissioner Bamin Nime remarked.
