Dawa Yangzum Sherpa has etched her name in mountaineering history by becoming the first Nepalese woman to scale all 14 peaks recognized as higher than 8,000 meters. Her landmark achievement was confirmed upon reaching the summit of Mt Shishapangma, located in Tibet, early Wednesday morning.

The 33-year-old mountaineer, originally from the Dolakha district's Rolwaling Valley, had previously ascended Mt Everest in 2012 when she was just 21. She also climbed the world's second highest peak, Mt K2, in 2014, showcasing her formidable skill and determination.

In addition to these, Sherpa has conquered other challenging peaks including Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Kanchanjunga, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Nagaparvat, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum 1, Gasherbrum 2, and Makalu. Her feat not only marks a personal success but also highlights Nepal's rich climbing legacy.
