Esteemed filmmaker and music composer Vishal Bhardwaj has been recognized with the Best Music Direction accolade for his innovative short film 'Fursat' during the prestigious 70th National Film Awards held on Tuesday. The ceremony, hosted at Vigyan Bhawan, saw President Droupadi Murmu bestow the honor upon Bhardwaj.
Following the award presentation, Vishal Bhardwaj conveyed his joy to ANI, remarking, "I am very happy. This is the biggest honor we get in the country. Whenever we receive this, it makes us really happy." This achievement marks his ninth win at the National Film Awards.
The short film 'Fursat' features performers Ishaan Khattar, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Salman Yusuff Khan, with the entire production shot on an iPhone. The film is available on YouTube. Among the other notable awardees were Aattam, Sooraj Barjatya, Neena Gupta, Pawan Malhotra, and the films Kantara and KGF: Chapter 2.
