Celebrated filmmaker Karan Johar and director Ayan Mukerji have been awarded the prestigious National Award for their film 'Bhramastra: Part One - Shiva'. The duo was recognized with the Best Film in the AVGC category at the 70th National Film Awards Ceremony, held at Vigyan Bhawan on Tuesday evening.
In an interview with ANI before the event, Karan Johar expressed immense happiness and pride. 'We are very excited that Brahmastra is receiving numerous honors and awards. We humbly accept this recognition and take pride in Indian cinema's significant role on the global stage,' Johar remarked.
Director Ayan Mukerji also shared his emotions with ANI, stating, 'Feeling very good today. Very happy, humble, and honored to be here.' 'Brahmastra Part One: Shiva' is the first of a planned trilogy in Mukerji's Astraverse, featuring stars like Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Amitabh Bachchan. The film's plot follows DJ Shiva, who discovers his unique connection to fire and his potential to awaken the mystical Brahmastra weapon.
