The Indian government's strategic move to bolster the creators' economy took a significant step forward with the announcement of the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies in Mumbai. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw outlined the initiative at the National Film Awards ceremony, highlighting a three-pronged approach to revive and promote the entertainment sector.

Emphasizing talent development, infrastructure expansion, and simplifying filmmaking permissions, Vaishnaw stated that the new institute would serve as a catalyst for growth. The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the creation of a national centre of excellence to harness necessary skills and technologies, aiming to nurture and sustain the creators' economy.

Further efforts include collaboration with industry stakeholders to streamline film creation processes and preserve India's rich film heritage. The establishment of IICT marks the beginning of an ambitious plan to set up similar institutes across the country, making India a global hub of creative excellence.
