Kedarnath Dham: A Sacred Transition to Winter Worship

The revered gates of Kedarnath Dham will be closing to pilgrims for the winter season on November 3.
As per longstanding tradition, the closing ceremony will occur on the occasion of Bhaidooj, with festivities beginning at 8.30 am, confirmed Vijay Prasad Thapliyal, CEO of the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee. Following the closure, the idol of Lord Kedarnath will be transported in a ceremonial palanquin by priests to the Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath. The journey will proceed via Rampur, Fata, and Guptkashi, concluding on November 5, where the deity will be worshipped throughout the winter as the Kedarnath temple lies under a blanket of snow.
