In Indore, a Garba event scheduled for Navratri was abruptly cancelled after objections from a right-wing group about a Muslim man's role on the organizing committee.
Bajrang Dal, a youth wing of Vishva Hindu Parishad, alleged the event was designed to promote 'love jihad,' and requested police intervention. The cancellation marks the first time in 36 years the event will not occur.
The organizers lament the decision, citing undue pressure and concerns over religious controversy. Despite having police permission, they opted to cancel to avoid further conflict.
