John Amos, celebrated for his roles in the 1970s TV series 'Good Times' and the miniseries 'Roots,' passed away at age 84 in Los Angeles. His death, due to natural causes, was confirmed by his son, Kelly Christopher Amos.

In a legal development, Dr. Mark Chavez of San Diego admitted to charges of illegal drug distribution in the death case of 'Friends' actor Matthew Perry. Chavez, who faces a potential 10-year prison term, made the plea in Los Angeles federal court.

Meanwhile, academy-award-winning actor Daniel Day-Lewis is set to make an acting return in his son's directorial debut, 'Anemone.' Known for films like 'Lincoln,' Day-Lewis last appeared in 2017's 'Phantom Thread.'
