Kerala's Three-Level Probe: Unpacking the Thrissur Pooram Disruption
Kerala has launched a three-level probe into the disruption of the Thrissur Pooram festival. This includes investigations by the state police chief, Crime Branch, and Intelligence ADGP on potential failures and deliberate attempts to disturb the event. The probe was initiated after a report by ADGP Ajithkumar was deemed insufficient.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced a comprehensive three-level investigation into the disruption of the Thrissur Pooram festivities earlier this year. This decision follows concerns over the report submitted by ADGP M R Ajithkumar, which was found lacking in detail by the government.
The investigations ordered include an inquiry by the state police into any failures by Ajithkumar, a Crime Branch examination of potential crimes, and a probe by the Intelligence ADGP. The aim is to uncover any disturbances related to the festival, including alleged interference by outside groups.
The disruptions led to significant changes in the festival, including a rescheduled fireworks display. The situation has sparked controversy, with accusations linking Ajithkumar to meetings with RSS leaders. However, CM Vijayan emphasized that any actions against the ADGP will await the investigation's findings.
