A court in San Isidro has authorized the removal of soccer legend Diego Maradona's remains from a private cemetery to be relocated to a public mausoleum in Buenos Aires. This decision, made at the request of Maradona's children, aims to honor the late football star's legacy.

The move is intended to allow fans to pay their respects to Maradona, who passed away in 2020 at the age of 60. Dalma Maradona, one of his daughters, expressed in social media that the family always believed his place was among the people.

The mausoleum, named 'M10 Memorial,' is currently being constructed in the upscale neighborhood of Puerto Madero. The initiative was introduced in 2023, and most of Maradona's children attended the ceremony. Meanwhile, eight medical professionals face trial over their alleged role in Maradona's death.
