Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi emphasized that his government is steadfastly committed to serving the people in accordance with Mahatma Gandhi's ideals. Speaking at an event in Cuttack marking Gandhi's 155th birth anniversary, Majhi commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership in upholding these principles in Odisha.

Majhi highlighted the success of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, launched on October 2, 2014, which celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2024. He stated that the initiative has significantly improved sanitation, with millions in rural areas now having access to toilets.

Further acknowledging Gandhi's vision for rural development, Majhi cited that over 80 crore Indians now receive free ration, and villages are equipped with essential infrastructures such as roads, drinking water, electricity, and internet. Additionally, he noted that under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative, 4.40 crore trees have been planted in Odisha against a target of 5 crore.
