Tragic Drownings During Religious Rituals in Madhya Pradesh
Eight individuals, including children, drowned while performing religious rituals across Madhya Pradesh on the occasion of Sarva Pitru Amavasya. The incidents took place in the Khargone, Shajapur, Morena, and Khandwa districts, leading to several deaths and ongoing rescue efforts by the National Disaster Response Force.

Eight individuals, including six children, tragically drowned while performing religious rituals across various districts in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday. The fatalities occurred during the Sarva Pitru Amavasya festivities as victims attempted to take ritual dips in rivers.
In Khargone district, three girls, including sisters Anshika (10) and Meenakshi (12), as well as another girl named Karishma (14), drowned while trying to rescue each other in the Choral river, confirmed District Sub-Divisional Officer of Police Archana Rawat. One girl was successfully rescued.
Other fatalities were reported from Shajapur, Morena, and Khandwa districts, where victims ranged from a 30-year-old man to teenagers. National Disaster Response Force personnel are continuing search operations to locate those still missing.
