Akhilesh Yadav, president of the Samajwadi Party, on Wednesday highlighted the critical importance of addressing the Ladakh issue. He threw his support behind the protest led by climate activist Sonam Wangchuk in the Union Territory.
Wangchuk, alongside 150 other protesters from Ladakh, continued their indefinite fast on Gandhi Jayanti despite being under detention. They claim their rights are being trampled upon in a place that symbolizes peace and democracy.
The former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister noted that ignoring voices raised on this pressing matter was akin to overlooking a significant strategic and economic-social issue. Yadav further criticized the BJP for its inaction and expressed hope that public support would fuel the success of Wangchuk's movement.
