Gandhian Principles in Modern Times: Lok Sabha Speaker Emphasizes Relevance
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla emphasized the contemporary relevance of Mahatma Gandhi's ideals while addressing children at Samvidhan Sadan. He advocated for following Gandhi’s and Shastri's philosophies to make India a developed nation by 2047. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday highlighted the growing relevance of Mahatma Gandhi's ideals in today's world.
Speaking to schoolchildren in the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan, Birla urged the younger generation to adhere to the philosophies of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.
He emphasized that Gandhi's principles of spirituality and self-reliance will play a crucial role in steering India towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.
Earlier, Birla paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat and his iconic statue at Prerna Sthal within the Parliament premises.
The Speaker also led other dignitaries, including BJP President J P Nadda, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, and former Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, in offering tributes to Shastri in the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan.
