Indian Navy Women Officers Embark on Historic Global Circumnavigation

Lt Commander Dilna K and Lt Commander Roopa A of the Indian Navy launched a historic expedition from Goa on Wednesday, aiming to circumnavigate the globe in eight months, covering 21,600 nautical miles.
Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi highlighted that this journey embodies India's spirit to defy societal norms and push new frontiers. The expedition will aid national scientific research, in collaboration with institutions like the National Institute of Oceanography and the Wildlife Institute of India.
The officers, expected back by May 2025, will navigate treacherous waters and face numerous challenges, boasting India's capabilities and resilience on a global stage. The Indian Navy will closely monitor their adventurous voyage, reinforcing India's strength and ambition.
