Rajinikanth's Health Crisis and Upcoming Film 'Coolie' Stir Audience Excitement

Veteran actor Rajinikanth, aged 73, was admitted to Apollo Hospitals in Chennai late Monday night after experiencing severe stomach pain, officials confirmed.

According to a medical bulletin released by Apollo Hospitals, Rajinikanth had a swelling in the aorta which was treated using a non-surgical, transcatheter method. 'Mr. Rajinikanth was admitted to Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road, on 30th September 2024. He had a swelling in the main blood vessel leaving his heart (Aorta), which was treated by a non-surgical, transcatheter method,' the statement from Apollo read.

The procedure involved placing a stent in the aorta to seal the swelling, as performed by Senior Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Sai Satish. 'We would like to let his well-wishers and fans know that the procedure went as planned. Mr. Rajinikanth is stable and is doing well. He should be home in two days,' said Dr. R.K. Venkatasalam, Director Medical Services, Apollo Hospitals.

Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi expressed support for the actor on social media, joining fans in prayers for Rajinikanth's recovery. In other news, Rajinikanth is set to star in the highly anticipated film 'Coolie,' with a recently released teaser featuring the actor in an action-packed role, piquing fan interest. 'Coolie' marks the first collaboration between Rajinikanth and director Lokesh Kanagaraj.

The film, produced by Sun Pictures, is rumored to include Sivakarthikeyan in a significant role and music by Anirudh Ravichander. The release date for 'Coolie' is yet to be announced. Additionally, Rajinikanth will appear alongside Amitabh Bachchan in 'Vettaiyan,' directed by TJ Gnanavel, which is set for a worldwide release this October.
