Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday praised the Maharashtra government's monthly cash transfer scheme, highlighting it as a commendable step towards women's empowerment and noting that other states are following suit.
Yadav attended a symposium in Pune focusing on Ahilyabai Holkar's welfare-centric governance, organized by leadership development academy Rambhau Mhalgi Prabhodini. During his visit, he also toured Shivsrushti, a theme park reflecting the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, envisioned by the late historian Babasaheb Purandare.
Yadav noted the Maharashtra scheme, ''Mukhyamantri Mazi Ladki Bahin Yojana,'' is based on Madhya Pradesh's ''Ladli Behna'' initiative, introduced by former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He accused opposition parties of cynicism and questioned their contribution to public welfare, asserting the scheme's success has rattled them.
