Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the Swachh Bharat Diwas 2024 celebration on Wednesday, marking 10 years since the Swachh Bharat Mission's inception. The announcement was made by Jal Shakti Minister C R Paatil during a press conference.

The event will see the launch and foundation stone laying of numerous sanitation and cleanliness projects, collectively valued at over Rs 9,600 crore. These initiatives include urban water and sewage systems upgrades under AMRUT and AMRUT 2.0, water quality improvisation in Ganga basin areas under the National Mission for Clean Ganga, and the construction of Compressed Biogas (CBG) Plants under the GOBARdhan Scheme.

The programme will showcase India's sanitation accomplishments over the past decade and set the stage for future efforts. Local government bodies, women's groups, youth organizations, community leaders, and various public figures are expected to participate, reinforcing the nationwide commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
