Writer-director Guy Guido is set to bring the intimate life of Hollywood legend James Dean to the silver screen. The upcoming feature film is inspired by William Bast's 2006 memoir, 'Surviving James Dean'.

Guido, noted for his works like 'Madonna and the Breakfast Club' and 'Lovin' Brooklyn', has already penned the script and is in discussions with potential producers. The casting process is underway.

The film will capture the relationship between Dean, who starred in 'East of Eden', 'Rebel Without a Cause', and 'Giant', and Bast, whom he met at UCLA's theater program at age 19. Bast's book details their journey from friends to lovers.
