Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reached out to actor Govinda on Tuesday after learning about his accidental shooting incident, wishing him a speedy recovery.
Govinda, who accidentally sustained leg injuries at his Mumbai home, is a well-known figure in Indian cinema. Shinde promised all necessary support to the actor and his family.
The 60-year-old actor was hospitalized after his revolver misfired while he was preparing to leave for the airport. Police confirmed he is now recuperating at home.
Govinda has communicated that doctors have removed the bullet and credited his recovery to fan affection and divine blessings.
Shinde expressed deep concern for Govinda's health on behalf of the state and assured the former film star that he would receive every aid needed.
With a career spanning over 165 Hindi-language films, Govinda recently joined the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena party in March.
