Enhanced Security Measures for Navratra at Vaishno Devi Shrine: Registration Counters to Start at Katra Station

With Navratri approaching, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) will launch registration counters at Katra railway station to facilitate pilgrims amidst an anticipated influx.
The board reviewed festival preparations, stressing heightened security and operational readiness ahead of the 9-day event starting October 3.
Chief Executive Officer Anshul Garg announced eight new counters at the station, raising total registration points to 47. Enhanced security measures include new RFID cards, mandatory registration, drones, CCTV surveillance, and additional security forces. Garg emphasized coordinated efforts for crowd management, fire safety, and traffic control.
