Acclaimed director Aparna Sen took to social media on Sunday to question Swaroop Biswas, president of the Federation of Cine Technicians and Workers of Eastern India, amid an ongoing dispute in the Bengali film and television industry.
The conflict began after an alleged suicide attempt by a woman hairstylist, who accused 11 individuals of preventing her from getting work. She recorded a voice clip and wrote a note asserting her claims.
FCTWEI president Biswas stated that the federation was unaware of her harassment, but members of the industry contend that she faced mental harassment and was blocked from projects. Sen's comments have been widely shared on social media, increasing pressure on Biswas and prompting questions about his credentials and actions.
