In a key address at the 21st Annual Conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, India Region Zone-III, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla emphasized the significance of dignified conduct by public representatives in legislative houses.
Birla asserted that continuous communication with the people is vital for improving their lives, considering it a moral duty of every public representative.
He highlighted the role of northeastern states in achieving a 'developed India' and mentioned that the discussions on 'Maintaining Legislative Purity' would enhance the responsibility of the representatives. Birla noted keen foreign investor interest in the region, citing its untapped potential in agriculture, art, culture, and tourism.
