Bengaluru's Jasmine Shekar clinched her maiden professional title at the 13th Leg of the Hero Women's Pro Golf Tour on Friday, overcoming tense moments towards the end of the final round.

The 19-year-old golfer, who had several runner-up finishes previously, held a four-shot lead with two holes remaining at Golden Greens Golf Club. Despite bogeying the 17th and 18th holes, Shekar secured victory by two shots as her closest rivals, including Hitaashee Bakshi and Ridhima Dilawari, could not capitalize on the opportunity.

Turning professional last year, Shekar was sixth on the Hero Order of Merit. This victory significantly boosts her confidence for the upcoming Women's Indian Open next month on the Ladies European Tour.
