In an astonishing feat, British adventurer Neil Laughton has set a record for the highest-altitude bike ride, pedaling a fold-up bike atop a 7,246-metre peak in Nepal. Laughton, an ex-Royal Marine Commando, completed this journey with Sherpa Nima Kanchla.
Meanwhile, the Texan desert is witnessing the construction of the world's first 3D-printed hotel. El Cosmico, an established hotel and campground in Marfa, Texas, is expanding to include 43 new hotel units and 18 residential homes over 60 acres, all built using a 3D printer the size of a crane.
Katy Perry recently expressed her fondness for a chubby penguin chick named Pesto, who has become a sensation at an Australian aquarium. Perry, in Melbourne for the Australian Football League Grand Final, said on Channel Seven that she wanted to "kiss Pesto."
