IACCGH Celebrates 25 Years, Honours Indo-American Pioneers

The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Houston (IACCGH) celebrated its 25th anniversary by honouring individuals and organisations for their contributions to the Indo-American business community. Key awardees included Rajender Singh, Col. Raj Bhalla, JSW Steel USA, Sindhu Menon, Miraj S. Patel, and Judge K.P. George.

The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Houston (IACCGH) has recognised remarkable individuals and organisations for their significant contributions to the Indo-American business community.

Marking its 25th anniversary with a grand Silver Jubilee Gala, the IACCGH celebrated years of fostering business growth and US-India trade relations by honouring individuals and organisations with the 2024 IACCGH Awards.

Rajender Singh of Star Promotions was bestowed the Pioneer Award in Entertainment for his 30-year career in promoting world-class entertainment in Houston and across the US. Singh has collaborated with Bollywood icons and supported pandemic relief efforts in India.

Col. Raj Bhalla, a 94-year-old veteran, received the Lifetime Achievement Award for Philanthropy and Community Service. Bhalla has supported medical research, established the Bhalla Scholarship, and contributed to projects like India House and the Veterans Memorial Plaza.

JSW Steel USA received the Inbound Investment Award for its $110 million investment to modernise its steel plate mill in Baytown, Texas, supporting the US administration's offshore wind energy initiative.

Sindhu Menon, the Executive Director and CTO of Harris County, was named Professional of the Year, while Miraj S. Patel received the Businessperson of the Year Award, representing 20,000 hotel owners.

Judge K.P. George was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award for Public Service, being the first South Asian to serve as Fort Bend County Judge.
