Karnataka Unveils KWIN City: A Beacon for Innovation and Economic Growth
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah launched the Knowledge, Wellbeing and Innovation City (KWIN City), a cutting-edge hub aimed at driving economic growth and fostering innovation. Spread over 5,800 acres and strategically located near Bengaluru, KWIN City is designed to attract global talent, boost industrial growth, and create numerous employment opportunities.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday unveiled the Knowledge, Wellbeing and Innovation City (KWIN City), heralding it as a transformative project for the state. Set to be a state-of-the-art hub for knowledge, health, innovation, and research, the Chief Minister described it as a cornerstone of Karnataka's future vision.
'We are establishing an ecosystem that aims to drive economic growth, attract global talent, and pioneer groundbreaking advancements,' he stated during the launch event. The proposed KWIN City, spanning 5,800 acres, is poised to redefine Karnataka's business landscape, blending knowledge, wellbeing, and innovation into a cohesive growth-centric environment.
Strategically positioned between Dobbaspete and Doddaballapura, just 45 minutes from Bengaluru airport, and five kilometers from the Bengaluru-Pune Greenfield Expressway, KWIN City is designed for optimal connectivity. It will incorporate sophisticated intra- and inter-transport systems to alleviate congestion and enhance convenience.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah reiterated that KWIN City stands as a testament to the state government's commitment to excellence, sustainability, and the well-being of its citizens.
Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar emphasized that KWIN City will draw from Bengaluru's vibrant ecosystem while contributing significantly to its further development. Minister for Large and Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development M B Patil echoed these sentiments, highlighting the project's potential to attract substantial domestic and international investment along with creating extensive employment opportunities.
