As former prime minister Manmohan Singh turned 92, wishes poured in from Congress leaders on Thursday. Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi hailed Singh's humility, wisdom, and selfless service in shaping the country's future.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also extended his greetings, lauding Singh as a ''rare embodiment of simplicity, dignity, and ingenuity in the realm of politics.''
Singh, who served as India's prime minister from 2004 to 2014 and as finance minister from 1991-96, is credited with driving transformative economic reforms. The Congress party lauded Singh's lifelong dedication to public welfare and economic prosperity.
